Elephant Ears Black Coral - colocasia antiquorum

Elephant Ears Black Coral

Elephant Ears Black Coral is one of the newest black elephant ears varieties and is known for its corrugated, glossy, jet black leaves and electric blue veins. Part of the Royal Hawaiian series of elephant ears, Black Coral plants are bred for superior disease resistance, dramatic leaves and tidy clumping habit.

Black Coral plants are 5-16 inches tall when shipped and grow very fast in clumps up to 3-4 feet tall! They prefer partial sun, partial shade and need lots of moisture. Black coral can even grow in a shallow pond!

Elephant Ear varieties are hardy in zones 7-10 as
perennials and suitable in zones 4-6 as annuals.
They are popular as annuals due to their rapid
growth - colocasia makes a dramatic impact to the
landscape within just one season.
